What's in the Tradies package

What each part of the Tradies package does for you

It all comes in the one monthly price.

Your tax return

Your Self-Assessment tax return, filed with HMRC well before the 31 January deadline. We work out your profit and claim every cost you're allowed to.

More about Self-Assessment

Your bookkeeping

Your income and costs recorded properly, so your return is right. We do your books once a year, before we file.

More about bookkeeping

Your CIS refund

Contractors take CIS off your pay, and it's often more than the tax you owe. We check your statements and claim the difference back through your tax return.

More about CIS

A tax planning call

Once a year we go through your numbers with you before the tax year ends, and check you're claiming everything you can.

Tax bill warnings

We tell you what you owe months before it's due, including payments on account in January and July, so you can put the money aside.

The Hubdoc app

Snap a receipt on your phone and it goes straight into your books. We set it up for you, so you don't have a pile of receipts to sort at the end of the year.

Free with every package: we deal with HMRC for you, whatever it’s about, and you can ring or email us as often as you like.

Thinking bigger?

Should you go limited?

It can mean less tax once your profits are high enough, but it also means more paperwork every year. We'll tell you honestly whether it's worth it for your numbers. Advice calls are free.

Staying a sole trader

Simpler, cheaper to run, and your tax return covers it all.

Going limited

Can save tax at higher profits. Adds company accounts, Corporation Tax and payroll.

Questions sole traders ask us

Do I need an accountant as a sole trader?

You don't have to have one. An accountant who knows construction usually finds claims you'd miss and gets your CIS back sooner. And with calls and emails free, you can ask as often as you like.

Can you get my CIS back?

If you've had more taken off than you owe in tax, yes, through your tax return. Try our free CIS Calculator to get a refund estimate first.

When should I go limited?

When the tax you'd save is more than the extra cost of running a company. That depends on your profit and how you'd pay yourself, so ask us and we'll work it out with you.

I've just started. What do I do first?

Register for Self-Assessment with HMRC and, if you work for contractors, for CIS as a subcontractor. Then keep every receipt. We can do the registrations for you.

Keep more of what you earn this year.

Your tax return filed early, your CIS back sooner, and every deadline handled for you.
