Paying yourself

Take your money out in the way that costs least tax

Many directors take a mix of salary and dividends. The right split depends on your profit and your other income, and it changes as the rules change. We go through it with you at your yearly tax planning call, and any time you ring.

Questions directors ask us

How should I pay myself?

Usually a small salary through payroll plus dividends from the company's profit. We work out the right mix for you each year.

How does CIS work for a limited company?

If contractors take CIS off your company's invoices, it comes off the PAYE and National Insurance your company owes each month. Anything left over is claimed back after the tax year ends.

What's a confirmation statement?

A yearly check that Companies House has the right details about your company, like its directors and shareholders. It comes with every limited company package.

Can you take over halfway through the year?

Yes. We contact your old accountant, collect your records and pick up from where they left off. You don't need to speak to them.

Run the company. We'll do the paperwork.

Accounts, tax, payroll, CIS and VAT done on time, with your tax bill in view all year.
